Sunday 27th July – Sunday 17A

THE ODD COUPLE
(Matthew 13:31-32)
I in them and you in me.

That you would want to abide in us,
fickle,
often divided,
sometimes loving,
ever ambiguous.
And yet you offer a place for all who follow:
no stately mountain ash or robust, rugged red-gum,
but an unassuming realm
like a mustard bush.

What an odd couple.
I in them and you in me:
this is God’s realm.
