Given the First Reading during the Easter season is not from the First Testament I am exploring the psalm (traditionally chosen as a response to the First Reading) set for this Sunday.
INTERVENING?
(Psalm 66:8-20)
The psalmist praises
an interventionist God
for answered prayers.
If God intervenes
how do we recognise it
as ‘the hand of God’?
Does God intervene
through flood, bushfire, tsunami,
earthquake, storm or drought?
Rather, in our pain,
our yearning, our loneliness,
God endures with us.
