CALL TO WORSHIP (From Psalm 116)
The LORD is gracious, and merciful,
and hears me when I call
The LORD has been good to you;
the LORD has delivered my life from death
my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.
Then come with thanksgiving,
and call on the name of the LORD.
Let us worship God.

Psalm 116:1-4,12-19
Out of love the LORD has heard my cry;
the LORD listened when I called, 
therefore I will proclaim as long as I live.
What shall I return to the LORD for all his bounty to me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD,
I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all God's people.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of God's faithful ones. 
O LORD, I am your servant; 
I am your servant, the child of your serving girl. 
You have loosed my bonds.
I will offer to you a thanksgiving sacrifice and call on the name of the LORD.
I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all God's people,
in the courts of the house of the LORD, in your midst, O Jerusalem. 
Praise the LORD!

A CREATIVE MOMENT - Genesis 18:1-15, Matthew 9:35-10:8
The theme of last week - journey into the unkown future on the strength of a word - continues. Using the draped brown cloth from last week might symbolise the journeys on which a chosen group of Jesus' followers are sent. Alongside this, Abraham and Sarah are confronted with the seemingly impossible prospect of parenthood. This is another "journey", or perhaps a stage in a continuing journey of faith, for them. We can't be sure of Abraham's reaction here, but Sarah thought the whole idea laughable.
When have we been in a similar circumstance? Did that circumstance turn out for us as it did for Abraham and Sarah, that a laughable suggestion came to be? Imagine ways in which these might be shared and incorporated into worship today.
