Sunday 20 - Year B

THE GATHERING OF THE PEOPLE  (from Psalm 111)
Praise the LORD.
I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart;
 in the group of the upright and in the congregation.
Great are the works of the LORD,
studied by all who take delight in them;
works full of majesty;
and God's grandeur endures for ever.

CALL TO WORSHIP  (Psalm 111)
 Praise the LORD!
 Hallelujah!
 I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart,
 in the company of the upright, and in the congregation.
 Great are the works of the LORD,
 studied by all who delight in them.
 Honour and majesty mark his works
 and his covenant faithfulness endures forever.
 He has caused his wonderful deeds to be proclaimed;
 the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
 He provides food for those who fear him;
 he will remember his covenant for ever and ever.
 He declared to his people the power of his works,
 that he would give them the heritage of the nations.
 The works of his hands are lasting kindness and justice.
 All his commandments are dependable;
 unshakeable for ever and ever,
 to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness
 He sent redemption to his people;
 he has commanded his covenant be kept forever.

Holy and awesome is his name.
 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
 all those who do them have good insight
 His praise continues forever.

A CREATIVE MOMENT - John 6:51-58
Continue the theme of the last three Sundays; have a display of various kinds of breads arranged, perhaps especially include loaves of multigrain bread. Just as the many and various grains make one loaf so we are made one in Christ. Share the bread (toasted?) at morning tea after worship.
If worship today includes Holy Communion, this would be an occasion to break and share a multigrain loaf.
