Sunday 9 - Year B

PRAYER OF ADORATION AND THANKSGIVING (Psalm 139:1-6,13-18)
O LORD, you explore me, and you know me through and through.
You know when I sit down and when I stand up;
you grasp my thought from far away.
I journey and I rest, and you watch closely;
indeed, you are familiar with all my conduct.
Even before a word is on my lips, O LORD, you know it completely.
You are close behind me and in front of me,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is wonderful and beyond me;
it is so far beyond me that I cannot grasp it.
Indeed, it was you who formed my inmost being;
you wove me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for you are awesome and wonderful,
so wonderful are the things of your making.
You have known me intimately;
my frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes beheld my unformed substance,
and in your book were written all the days that were formed for me,
before any of them had dawned.
How weighty are your thoughts, LORD God! How vast is the sum of them!
If I tried to count them, they would be more than grains of sand;
If I came to the end, I would not have finished with you.
