Sunday 32 - Year C

Psalm 145:1,17-21 (Jeff's Version for Today)
I will exalt you, my God;
and bless your name for ever and ever.
Every day I will bless you;
and praise your name for ever and ever.
You are great, LORD God, and greatly to be praised;
your greatness is unserachable.
Generation to generation will praise your doings;
and declare your mighty deeds.
They will speak of the glory of your splendour;
I will meditate on your marvellous works.
You are just in all your ways, O LORD;
and faithful in all your doings.
You are near to all who call on you;
to all who call on you in truth.
You take care of the desires of all who fear you;
their cry for help you will hear, and you will save them.
O LORD, you watch over all who love you;
the wicked you will destroy.
My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD;
and all flesh will bless your holy name.

AN ALTERNATE PSALM FOR SUNDAY 32C

CALL TO WORSHIP           PSALM 98:4-9a

Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all the earth;
break forth in joyous acclamation, shout with joy and sing praises.
Sing praises to the LORD with music, and with the sound of celebration.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn shout with joy
 in the presence of the LORD, our King.
Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who livein it.
Let the rivers clap their hands;
 let the hills proclaim with shouts of joy in the presence of the LORD,

CALL TO WORSHIP            & nbsp;         (From Ps 98)
Sing to the LORD a new song; God has done marvellous things.
God's right hand and holy arm have gained victory.
The LORD has made known this victory;
and has shown salvation to all the nations of the earth.
With steadfast love and faithfulness the LORD God has cared for Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God andKing.
Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all the earth;
break forth in joyous acclamation, shout with joy and sing praises.
Sing praises to the LORD with music, and with the sound of celebration.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn shout with joy
    in the presence of the LORD, our King.
Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who livein it.
Let the rivers clap their hands;
    let the hills proclaim with shouts of joy at the presence of the LORD,
For the LORD is coming to judge the earth;
coming to judge the world with actions that put things right,
    and all the peoples with justice.

A CREATIVE MOMENT - Luke 20:27-38
Wrap a potted bush, shrub or small tree in read/orange cellophane and backlight the whole to give a representation of "the burning bush" (to which Jesus refers in the reading). In that story God says to Moses "I am who I am" or "I will be who I will be" (both are possible translations of the Hebrew). For the God who is and will always be, all are alive.
