Sunday 26th January – Epiphany 3A

Morning, late winter,
sunlight dancing on the lake
and two fishermen
silently feeding out nets
from their tiny boat.
Beyond lay Tiberias,
town for pilgrim and tourist,
greeting the new day.
Silent on that pebbled shore
I pondered the day
when others, casting, mending,
dropped everything
at the Teacher’s “Follow me.”
Could I have done the same?
