April 30th 2017 – Easter 3A

(Luke 24:13-35)
Two of them, going,
away from Jerusalem,
cold with sadness, loss.

A brief encounter,
in bread, blessed, broken and shared;
hearts warmed, eyes opened.

Two of them, going,
running to Jerusalem,
their lives rekindled.

Hearts warmed each Easter,
reassured, we holiday
on our vast island.

Asylum seekers,
refugees and those displaced;
how are their hearts warmed?
