A DIFFERENT REALM

Ancient shepherds,
corruption, abuse, mocking
and crucifixion:
An un-majestic
‘crown-of-thorns-king-of-the-Jews’
discarded scarecrow.*
A once and crumbling
Church Triumphant, past glory,
hails this one as king.
The way of the church:
making sense of Jesus’ death
in this counter-image.
The way of Jesus:
teaching, healing, including,
sharing bread… and life.
