ON YOUR WAY
(Genesis 32:22-31)
Jacob was left alone,
he wrestled a man, faced God,
was wounded and blessed
In the Eucharist
gathered yet alone we come
face to face with God
We bring our demons,
our woundedness, our failings,
we come as we are.
In this mystery
new light dawns on our wrestling;
our wounded self blessed.
We depart in peace:
One by whose wounds we are healed
walks the way with us.
