THE HAND OF GOD?
(Exodus 14:19-31)
Egyptian first-born
and then the army, all killed –
at the hand of God?
But then, perhaps not:
even today some will see
God in such events.
Throughout the Bible
miracle and mystery
enliven the text.
The story’s purpose
was to affirm God present
beside the oppressed.
