LIVING IN AWE?
(Exodus 20:1-4)
The smoking mountain,
thunder, lightning, trumpet sound:
they saw and trembled.
Thus God handed down
rules for a fractious people
to live by in awe.
Ten commandments
summarising many more,
for living as two.
It’s simple, really:
Love God – and love your neighbour
as you love yourself.
