TURNING
(Jeremiah 18:1-11)
Wheel turning, turning,
clay resists the potter’s hand,
shaping a vessel.
Wheel humming, humming:
“Pluck up, break down, and destroy,”
which God has in mind.
Turn, people, turn, turn:
God will turn and change God’s mind
to “build up” and “plant”.
The potter’s firm hand
in our world of distractions,
God’s compassion, hope.
