GRACE AND JUDGEMENT
(Joel 2:23-32)
Gone the locusts. Rain!
The promise of grain, wine, oil,
hunger satisfied,
the spirit of God
poured out on all, enabling
prophecy, dreams, visions.
But this grace is known
in the context of judgement:
the day of the LORD.
Today’s locust plagues:
xenophobia, racism,
social division.
Will they devour us
while we ponder what to do?
How will we be judged?
