PRESENCE
(Haggai 1:15b-2:9)
Windswept, pray’r-laden,
abbey ruins, Iona:
God is in this place.
Imposing, solid,
peaceful cathedral, Durham:
God is in this place.
Small, sun-baked, rural,
iron-roofed church, Werrimull:
God is in this place.
Its past grandeur gone,
Jerusalem’s temple sat
amid argument.
Haggai encouraged
rebuilding temple and hope:
God is in this place.
New? Needing repair?
Can our congregation claim
God is in this place?
