15A - Epiphany 7A — 17A - Transfiguration
Psalm 131
O God, my heart isn’t arrogant,
nor my eyes above everything:
I haven’t become involved in big things,
things beyond my ability or capacity.
But I’ve kept my inmost being calm and anchored,
like a young child with its mother;
my inmost being is like the young child I carry.
Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
for now and for all time.
OFFERING
Gracious, eternal, mysterious God,
we bring our gifts with hopeful and faithful spirits.
Bless the offering of these gifts and our lives
that new hope and new possibilities
are made real in the lives of those
whom we serve in following Jesus. Amen.

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
(A prayer, usually with connection to one or more of the lections for the day, to gather the spoken and silent concerns/joys/thanks expressed by the congregation and lead into a more structured Intercession. Sometimes this prayer also borrows lightly from other sources e.g. Uniting in Worship 2 or publications of the Iona Community.)
Loving God,
who shows compassion to the suffering
and calls to those in darkness,
pour out your Spirit
on those who hunger and thirst for justice,
those whose troubles are known only to you
those whome we name on our lips and in our silence
and those we have forgotten …
