Year A, and I’m embarking on an exploration of the First Testament readings.
ADVENT HOPE
(Isaiah 2:1-5)
Isaiah’s great hope –
that nations would reconcile,
walking in God’s ways.
In our selfish world
international quarrels
make peace efforts hard.
Our Advent hope –
justice, peace and well-being,
promised, yet to come.
Following Jesus
may my faint but eager steps
hasten its coming.
