A NEW DAWN
(Isaiah 61:10-62:3)
End and beginning,
looking back, looking forward,
what was, what will be.
The rags of exile
replaced by robes and garments ,
righteousness and praise.
Images of light, (and life)
hope conveyed in a new dawn,
acts righting past wrongs.
Isaiah’s message
to the returning exiles;
words of joy and hope.
His words call to mind
the hope for all humankind
expressed in Jesus.
