CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 111)
Praise the LORD!
Hallelujah!
I will give thanks to you, O God, with all my heart,
in the company of the upright, in the congregation.

PRAYER OF ADORATION (Psalm 111)
Great are your works O LORD,
and your covenant faithfulness endures forever.
You have caused your wonderful deeds to be proclaimed;
and you provide food for those who regard you with holy awe;
you will remember your covenant for ever.
You declare to your people the power of your works,
giving them the heritage of the nations.
The works of your hands are lasting kindness and justice;
all your commandments are dependable.
They are unshakeable for ever and ever,
to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
You sent redemption to your people;
and commanded your covenant be kept forever.

Holy and awesome is your name.
To hold you in holy awe is the beginning of wisdom;
all those living this way have good insight
Your praise continues forever.

OFFERING
God of abundance and love,
may our lives and these symbols of our living
be a fragrant offering.
By your Holy Spirit,
enable us to live
in imitation of your faithful love and generosity.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
(A prayer to gather the spoken and silent concerns/joys/thanks expressed by the congregation and lead into a more structured Intercession with connection to the lections for the day. Sometimes this prayer borrows lightly from other sources e.g. Uniting in Worship 2 or publications of the Iona Community.)

Loving God,
present amid the confusion and strife of the world,
speak your healing word of love
to those whose troubles are known only to you;
and by your encouraging Spirit
sustain those whom we name on our lips
and in the silence of our hearts
Hear our prayer, in Jesus’ name…
      (The Prayers of the People continue)

A CREATIVE MOMENT – John 6:51-58
Continue the theme of the last three Sundays; have a display of various kinds of breads arranged, perhaps especially include loaves of multi-grain bread. Just as the many and various grains make one loaf so we are made one in following Jesus. Share the bread (toasted?) at morning tea after worship.
If worship today includes Holy Communion, this would be an occasion to break and share a multi-grain loaf.
