WARP AND WEFT
(Micah 5:2-5a)
Hoping and waiting.
a longing from ancient times:
one whose rule is peace.
Out of Bethlehem?
Who’d have thought that name would stir
anticipation?
Our story’s fabric
is shot through with threads of ‘least’
and ‘unexpected’.
Motley warp and weft
draw on the hope of ages past,
love and faithfulness.
We are this fabric,
yet wrapped in it to reshape it
for those yet to come.
