WHERE WATER FLOWS
(Jeremiah 2:4-13)
Fountains, cracked cisterns,
Jeremiah’s metaphor:
life offered, wasted.
The people had turned,
forsaking the God of life
for idolatry.
How easy to turn:
distracted they start digging
their own ‘cracked cisterns’.
It’s easy to see
the idols others worship,
but what of my own?
