AUTHENTIC WORD
(Deuteronomy 18:15-20)
How do we declare
a word is of God, from God,
and the speaker true?
Affirming a word,
authentic, true and from God
requires discernment.
Probe that word, testing,
questioning, doubting, comparing
with past words from God.
The word of the Lord,
transcendent, word from ‘outside’,
breaking in on us.
A word from God
calls to the way of justice
and life over death.
