LIGHT IN THE DARK
(Luke 21:5-19)
How little has changed:
the scammers of Jesus’ day
falsely promised much.
In perilous times
of earthquake, pestilence, war,
plague-like they emerge.
Today the scammer
with false words – ‘hope’, ‘salvation’.
Tomorrow the tears.
But in this darkness
Jesus’ words offer hope, light
and reassurance.
