WHO WILL LISTEN?
(Proverbs 1:20-33)
She raises her voice
on the busiest corner,
in the squares and street.
Fools, scoffers, simple,
folk in selfish busy-ness,
pass by Wisdom’s cry.
Woe and panic loom,
calamity and anguish,
but who will listen?
Still there is today,
a heedless, headlong pursuit,
ignoring Wisdom.

NO EASY TASK
(Mark 8:27-38)
Jesus, plain question,
‘Who do you say that I am?’
was a turning point.
His invitation,
‘for the sake of the gospel’,
is no easy task.
Yet following him,
being lost in the gospel,
we find life indeed.
