LAMB OF GOD
(John 1:29-42)
The sin of the world,
our demand for sacrifice,
violence and death.
The sins of the world,
that list of moral failings
by which I judge you.
Jesus, Lamb of God,
not the sacrifice some say
demanded by God.
Jesus never was
our get-out-of-jail-free card,
we have made him such.
