GOOD FRIDAY
Corona, a crown;
but a virus by that name
rules our lives today.
Death, disease and dread
isolate and consume us:
when will life return?

LIFE IN THE MIDST OF DISASTER
(Matthew 28:1-10)
Many years ago
I thought to ‘visit the tomb’,
like the two Marys.
Church filled with pilgrims,
smells, smoke, sounds and scaffolding;
but life seemed absent.
Then, watching the queue,
the thought formed, “He is not here;
for he has been raised.”
I left straight away,
finding light and life outside
to follow Jesus.
These are ‘virus times’:
our church shut, we find Jesus
in other places.
