I had initially thought to post each stanza a day at a time during the week (‘To be continued…’) but there is also practical worth in posting it whole.
HOLY WEEK
How long, O Jesus,
will you ride this humble beast
through the pleading crowd? (Mk 11:1-11)
How long, O Jesus,
will you curse the unfruitful
in the face of death? (Mk 11:12-17)
How long, O Jesus,
will you pursue and condemn
false authority? (Mk 11:27-33)
How long, O Jesus,
will you champion the ones
who pour out their all? (Mk 14:1-9)
How long, O Jesus,
will you share broken bread, wine,
in sadness or hope? (Mk 14:18-26)
How long, O Jesus,
will you hang like a scarecrow*
in love for the world? (Mk 15:22-37)
How long, O Jesus,
will you lie in awkward death
in a borrowed tomb? (Mk 15:43-47)
